1st edition. Hardback. Very good condition. xii, 332pp with an etching by Francis S. Walker and 119 illustrations in the text. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt with beautiful coloured foredge painting. An owners old note states "The View painted on the edge is Greenwich Palace by Zachnedoff." Small light fox marks on few pages, in the margin edges only . Brown full leather boards with gilt line decoration on front . Five raised bands on the spine with tooled gilt decoration. Slight wear on edges. A very nice hard to find copy.
